Summary 
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) is a member of the nuclear medicine department’s operational staff. The technologist is responsible for performing nuclear medicine tests, such as PET scans, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of neurology patients. The perfect candidate must be able to successfully navigate the demands of neurology PET imaging. The technologist is licensed in all scopes of practice as defined by the State of California Radiologic Health branch and performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceutical materials. The technologist must be able to work safely in an outpatient care setting and be able to interact accordingly with other patient care departments.  
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Nuclear Medicine Technologists are responsible for robustly knowing the NMT Technologist scope of practice and working within it.  
  2. Collects relevant patient medical information needed to adjust the parameters of nuclear medicine tests in accordance with the attending provider’s order 
  3. Receives, stores, prepares, and calibrates dosages of a variety of radiopharmaceutical materials, which may be received as individual unit doses  
Preferred Education and Experience 
  1. Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine technology training program; Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  2. Valid and current NMTCB or ARRT-N certificate 
  3. Valid and current CTNM license issued by the State of California 
  4. At least 1 year of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist preferred 
Special Conditions of Employment 
  1. Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT)  
  2. Furnish proof of COVID-19 vaccination 
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
  1. Ability to administer radiopharmaceutical medications 
  2. Basic knowledge of medical terminology 
  3. Strong critical thinking and the ability to analyze test results.  
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  5. Calm and compassionate  
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision  
Schedule
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday - Friday
Compensation: $65.00 - $85.00 per hour
